About Me:
Carla originally joined the team at Allegany Franciscan Ministries in December of 2017 and currently serves as the Grants Administration & Quality Manager. In her role, Carla provides the administration and support for all grant and investment programs, and has assisted and led our team in making significant strides and improvements with our overall grant process, from application to reporting. Using an equitable lens to approach our work, she has been a strong voice and advocate for improved streamlining and incorporating more trust-based relational methods to build and maintain strong partnerships. She serves as an initial point of contact providing information to new grant applicants and existing grant partners regarding Allegany’s priorities and funding opportunities, and offering guidance and support to applicants and partners throughout the application process.
With her rich nonprofit background of 20 years, she is dedicated to advocating for those historically marginalized and collaborating with others to drive positive community change. Prior to her time at Allegany, Carla worked in nonprofits with vulnerable youth and their families and also served as Office Manager at Florida Philanthropic Network, a respected statewide membership network of philanthropic organizations working to build philanthropy to build a better Florida. In 2003, she earned a bachelor’s degree in social work at the University of South Florida and was recognized as a Conn Social Work Scholar in the program. She also completed the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate Program offered through University of South Florida’s Muma College of Business and currently serves on the PEAK Grantmaking Florida Chapter Leadership team as membership co-chair. Carla lives in Tampa with her boyfriend and two cats. She loves animals, being outdoors in nature, and relaxing at the beach.
