Where We Serve
Allegany Franciscan Ministries supports organizations and projects assisting underserved and economically poor residents in the Miami-Dade community, continuing the work begun by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany when they arrived in Miami in 1927.
Our Palm Beach Region encompasses the counties of Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie. Allegany Franciscan Ministries has supported programs assisting underserved and economically poor residents of the region, continuing the work begun by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany when they arrived in West Palm Beach in 1939.
The Tampa Bay region served by Allegany Franciscan Ministries is defined as Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. The Franciscan Sisters of Allegany came to the area in 1931; our grants and community work are intended to continue the Sisters’ efforts to care for those most in need in our communities.
