Allegany Franciscan Ministries makes funding decisions through both competitive and non–competitive processes to help us achieve our overall goals and focus. Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations working within the geographic regions served by Allegany Franciscan Ministries.
With the goal of creating healthier communities, we seek to:
Increase access to health services
and improve the overall health status of underserved communities.
Allegany Franciscan Ministries is a non-profit Catholic organization focused on improving the overall health status of individuals and communities through increasing access to health services and information. We strive to promote physical, mental, spiritual, societal and cultural well-being in the communities we serve.
Our 2013 grants will support organizations that positively impact the health of individuals, families, and communities, and improve access to health services and information for marginalized, vulnerable, underserved or economically disadvantaged residents in six Florida counties.
Please review specific information about each of our grant programs. Our overall strategies include:
=> Community education and outreach designed to increase knowledge and support behavioral changes;
=> Healthcare services and basic needs;
=> Increased capacity and coordination of the healthcare delivery system;
=> Advocacy and community efforts that educate, engage, raise awareness, or mobilize communities.
Allegany Franciscan Ministries’ mission, together with the vision and leadership of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany, compel us to award grants that reflect our values. Organizations and projects receiving funding are expected to provide person-centered services in a culturally competent manner. We specifically look to support projects that are collaborative, innovative and creative, and that promote the dignity of the person.
